<div class="">Since you need to get this update to fix updating, you need to use the command line (in terminal) to download it. (Yes, you could just reinstall). </div>

</div>
<div class="">1) find the directory where you installed the g2conda distribution (usually in your home directory) with finder</div>
<div class="">2) open a terminal window (Applications/Utilities)</div>
<div class="">3) type “<font size="3" class=""><b class="">cd </b></font>" (note the space at the end) — do not press enter</div>
<div class="">4) drag the g2conda to the terminal window (a string like /Users/<yourname>/g2conda will appear)</div>
<div class="">5) press enter</div>
<div class="">6) type “<font face="Courier" size="3" class=""><b class="">bin/python GSASII/bootstrap.py</b></font>” and press enter</div>
<div class="">7) press enter (or enter a proxy address, as before) to upgrade.</div>

<div class="">I downloaded GSAS-2 this morning on Mac (OS X El Capitan) using the "single step installer", and didn't recieve any errors. I then tried to check for updates (which I realize shouldn't exist yet because I probably have the most recent version)
and got an error which may be interesting to you? See attached photo.</div>
