As of today (version 3299), GSAS-II has new abilities of use for creating “Rietveld” plots for publication. One is that the plot window now has an option for magnification regions — press the “a” key to add magnification regions, or less conveniently, use the
button on the window associated histogram data tree item). Note that magnification regions can be dragged around on the plot, as was already true for tick mark positions, different curve placement, etc. so plots can be customized.

<div class="">You will also see a new green P button (P for publish). This is used to create a high resolution or vector-graphics plot file (pdf, jpg,…). This opens a window with a preview of the plot. Data are shown the same way as in the main plot window
(keeping the current zoom level, tick mark positions etc.), but adds a (obs-calc)/sigma mini plot and allows you to adjust lettering size, legend contents and colors. With appropriate software, the vector plots (svg or pdf) can be annotated with no loss of
quality. </div>

<div class="">Low resolution screen dumps showing the screen plot with magnification regions and a thumbnail of a PDF are attached. </div>
