<p><span style="font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Arial",sans-serif; color:black">Problem: As of Tuesday evening, the APS has been troubleshooting an issue with injection septum S:IS1 operation.  Machine studies have been cancelled as of the issue origination.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Arial",sans-serif; color:black">Activity: The ASD Power Supply Group with assistance from the AES/MOM Group have been actively diagnosing the source of the problem.  As of this morning, additional diagnostic tests

 have resulted in the decision to replace the injection septum magnet assembly.  A spare septum magnet assembly had already been located, electrically tested and confirmed as leak tight and is in the process of confirmatory testing.  Work planning and control

 efforts are progressing in coordination with HP, Rigging & Lifting, WSH and a host of AES support groups.  The removal/installation time as well as bake-out and demobilization, followed by SR conditioning and start-up, has a low probability, of infringing

 on the start of user operations on October 1<sup>st</sup>.</span></p>
