Hi Bartłomiej,
First of all, please subscribe to the mailing list so that you can post to it.
Neither Bob nor I do much with Linux these days and I think the last time I tried to build a collection of Python packages on VM with Linux I tried to use GTK3 and failed to get wxpython to build. Obviously, you were able. I will put this on my list to try out when I get a chance.
I have a few questions and comments.
First of all we are recommending that everyone move to Python3 at this time, so when you do your next package build, I’d like to recommend that you switch to that.
I gather that you are using archlinux, which I have never tried, but if you want to recommend a version to use and instructions to duplicate the environment you are using that would help me reproduce this.
Finally, since it is likely that I will need to introduce something to increase the size of some widgets, specifically for GTK3, if you know of a way to differentiate the GTK3 vs GTK2 backends in Wx, I will need that as well.
Brian

Hello,
I'm a maintainer of the gsas2 package for Archlinux that can be found here:
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/gsas2-svn
I would like to report the bug, which I've found.
Currently, the package uses python2 with wxpython-gtk2 backend and everything works fine. However, I try to migrate the package to python3 and gtk3.
When I run gsas2 with gtk3, application works, but there scaling issues with comboboxes making some parameters unreadable (attached figures 1-5). When I try to change gtk style, situation is slightly better but still not good (figure 6).
I suspect that it results from fixed size of controls and they do not scale properly for different gtk themes.
Best regards
Bartłomiej Gędziorowski
