[GSAS-II] Bug when copying Sample parameters

Hi Lucas,

Rather than editing the file manually (which can be done, but is not recommended), my suggestion would be to make the changes in the GUI (as you have done to do the refinement). Then create the .instprm file as shown in step 3.4 of the [now retitled] "Create Instrument Parameter File: Determine Starting Profile from a Standard” tutorial, https://subversion.xray.aps.anl.gov/pyGSAS/Tutorials/CWInstDemo/FindProfParamCW.htm. It will have the wavelengths & profile values you have set/refined in the GUI.

Hope this helps,
Brian

Hi Brain,

so i could solve my problem with "copy selected" which worked. Of course it would be great if you could help me making a instrument parameter file. What information do you need. This is what i use at the moment:

#GSAS-II instrument parameter file; do not add/delete items!

Changing the instrument type is not something one should do most of the time and we certainly don’t want it to be something one does by accident. Do you need help making an instrument parameter file to match your data source?

Dear all,

i think i found a bug in GSASII. I try to make a sequential refinement on up to 300 datasets. And I want all the datasets to have the same sample parameters. So i set the right sample parameters for the first dataset (which is with Debye-Scherrer as diffractometer type). Then i press copy->set all->Ok. So it turns out that everything is copied to the other datasets but not the Diffractometer type which still reads Bragg-Brentano (which is the default one). I dont really want to go through 300+ datasets all the time to set it to the right type. Does anyone else experience this error? I am currently working on a linux machine, maybe thats the problem. I am thankful for any help or work-around.

Best regards,
Lukas Grossmann
