[Xrayops] S:IS1 Downtime

[APS Experiment Hall X-ray Operations Problem List]

Problem: As of Monday evening, the APS has been troubleshooting an issue with injection septum S:IS1 operation.



Activity: The ASD Power Supply Group with assistance from the AES/MOM Group have been actively diagnosing the source of the problem. As of this morning, additional diagnostic tests have resulted in the decision to replace the injection septum magnet assembly. A spare septum magnet assembly has already been located, and is in the process of being electrically tested and vacuum checked and is in the process of confirmatory testing. Work planning and control efforts are progressing in coordination with HP, Rigging & Lifting, WSH and a host of AES support groups. The removal/installation time as well as bake-out and demobilization, followed by SR conditioning and start-up, has put the estimated downtime at approximately one week.
