Ruggero,
You should see a change after you press Refine to redo the simulation. Note that the plus signs on the plot are computed when the pattern is first simulated (or after a reset to the simulation range with the “Edit Range” button on the histogram tree item) and the green line is the simulation with the latest settings.
In the attached plot I did the simulation initially with no texture (plus signs) and then added a non-zero SH term. Note that the intensity of some classes of reflections is increased.
Brian

Hi All,
I am trying to simulate a X-Ray powder pattern with texture effect using the spherical harmonics.
I am using Phases -> Data -> Preferred orientation model = "Spherical Harmonics, Harmonic order = 4, C(4,1) = 1.0.
However I do not see any difference between with/without the use of preferred orientation.
What am I doing wrong?
Is there any example/documentation where I can look at?
Thanks
Ruggero
